Letters to Myself: In Everything Give Thanks
Those who read the last newsletter from The Remnant know that I am starting a new series! This series will be letters to myself (as the name implies LOL), reminding myself of truths that are hard to believe. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I've decided to kick off this series with a reminder about keeping gratitude to God in the forefront of my heart and mind. I hope it encourages you as well. Happy Thanksgiving! đ Dear Olivia, The purpose of this letter is not to lecture y

Guest Post: Where Did âTrue Loveâ Go?
It's a pleasure to once again have my friend, Connor, write for The Remnant. Not only is he a great writer and fantastic world-builder, but he's also a wonderful, godly teen who is going to do great things. This well-researched article talks about the disappearance of "true love" in our society and what the solution to getting it back is. Welcome back to The Remnant for another guest post, Connor! "To love is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be

A Closer Look: Stick Close to Jesus
Hello, hello! I'm back with a new blog post after an unplanned hiatus. I hope you will enjoy reading this one and that it encourages you in the ways of the Lord. <3 In Luke 22:54-62, thereâs a detail that always jumps out at me. In this passage, Jesus has been arrested and brought to the high priestâs house in the middle of the night. Earlier in the same chapter, Peter had said ââLord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to deathâ (Luke 22:33). Jesus repl

Remnant Rewind: These Days
You may have noticed I've been taking an impromptu break from blogging. I promise I will be back in May with more articles and fun content. Meanwhile, this article I posted a couple years ago is still just as important, inspiring, and true in April 2026. I hope you enjoy! I sighed and inwardly groaned. I reached for the TV remote and turned off the news. I canât even watch the news for more than a couple minutes without being so discouraged, I thought. Almost ever

Remnant Rewind: What We Often Miss About Good Friday
"It was the year Good Friday fell on a Monday..." as my grandfather used to say reflectively. I'm kidding ;) I just couldn't resist starting this Good Friday post without a tribute to one of his many jokes. Okay, on to today's post now! (LOL) As Easter approaches, it can be easy to get caught up in the rush of the season. After all, there are church services, family dinners, Easter egg hunts, plus trying to enjoy a long weekendâs break from school and work. Yet, Easter is

Remnant Rewind: Reflections on the Book of Ruth
I love the book of Ruth because of the many lessons and practical applications we can glean from it. This article was posted in October 2024, and I hope you enjoy it. It's one that's very close to my heart. I recently read through the book of Ruth in the Old Testament. Though I have often heard and read this wonderful story, reading it again has helped me take a closer look at Godâs faithfulness to provide for His people. A Summary of Ruth

How Jesus Took Care of His Mental Health
Do you sometimes struggle to fully realize that Jesus was just as much human as He was God? I find it difficult to picture my sinless, death-defeating Saviour with the occasional headache or blisters on His hands and feet. I have to remind myself that He too wouldâve stood in line at the market, helped His mom with the dishes, laughed at His own jokes (maybe ;), and gone to His friendsâ bar mitzvahs. But He also was tempted by the devil to sin. He had to hold His

Before Understanding There Was...
One thing God has been showing me lately is a very powerful truth that is changing the way I respond to Godâs guidance. Letâs take a look at three different characters in the Bible who not only understood this truth but also lived it out. 1. Abram In Genesis 12, God speaks to Abram saying, âGet out of your country, from your family and from your fatherâs house to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and y

Guest Post: Don't Waste Your Youth
I'm excited to introduce a friend of mine that I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past year. Connor is not only a great writer and fantastic world-builder, but he's also a wonderful, godly teen who is going to do great things. He sent me this article to publish on The Remnant, and it fit perfectly with the theme of young people living uncompromised for God, regardless of our age. Enjoy! âWhen youâre older. You need more experience.â A majority of people under

The Stable
A couple Christmases ago, I heard an amazing sermon that has stuck with me ever since. The pastor preached about the shepherds that found baby Jesus in the stable. They probably expected to find the long-awaited King of the Jews in a palace or somewhere grand. However, they found Him in a dirty, smelly, and obscure stable. The shepherds probably couldn't believe that something so incredible and majestic could have come from an animals' stable. We see this sentiment carried t

Closer Look: Hold Your Peace
In 1 Samuel 10, we find the story of the prophet Samuel anointing Saul as the first kind of Israel. As I read this story the other day, something at the end of the chapter jumped out at me. Once Saul was anointed king, most of the Israelites accepted him as such, except for a few "rebels." Verse 27 says, "But some of the rebels said, 'How can this man save us?' So they despised him and brought him no presents..." What caught my attention was Saul's response to these rebels

Don't Worry; Just Rest
I once read a devotional that focused on the story in Genesis when God made Eve, the first woman. The point of that devotional always stuck with me, even a few years later. Letâs walk through it in todayâs article. The Problem In Genesis 2, we see God creating the universe. After He created man, He said, âIt is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to himâ (verse 18, NKJV). There was a problem: Adam, the fir
