Our Great Provider

In Numbers 11, there is a comforting yet slightly convicting conversation between God and Moses that is just as powerful today as it was then.

Moses asks God in verses 21 and 22 how He will provide enough food for the Israelites in the wilderness like God said He would.

I love God’s reply in verse 23: “’Has the Lord’s hand [His ability and power] become short [thwarted and inadequate]?” (AMP).

We face so many opportunities for us to be worried or stressed about our circumstances. Will I get into the school I want to? Will I be able to afford my groceries? Will I meet the right person? Will I pass this exam?

Remnant, our God is the great Provider. Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (NKJV). God knows your every need before you even need it. He is faithful and powerful enough to not only fulfill them, but to do so “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20). So, why doubt His promise to provide for us?

We don’t have to worry or be anxious about our futures because God will provide us with everything we need if we follow Him. Though the economy is doing poorly, though it’s challenging to even afford groceries, though you don’t know just how you’ll pay off your student loans, trust your Provider.

Though it seems the right opportunities will never come around, though it feels like it’s taking forever to meet the right person, though you feel anxious about what comes next, trust that God not only knows your needs, but already has the solution.

No matter how desperate your situation looks like, the Lord’s hand has not become short. He is more than able to supply you with everything you need. This is something that I must remind myself of often. As I look forward to my high school graduation in a couple months, my plans for after graduation seem daunting and – for some of it – just plain unknown.

Will you join me in reminding ourselves that God will supply our every need?

Let’s do it together.

-Olivia
