A Simple Reminder

For the past couple of months, there has been one worship song that has encouraged me and spoken to my heart in a special way. I hope it will do the same for you guys today and remind you of God's wonderful plans for your life.

Lately, I’ve been dealing with a lot of frustration that has been building up for quite a while. Though I know and trust that God has me in this season of life for a special purpose, it has still been difficult to get through the long days. That is why this worship song has been such a comfort to me.

“Good Plans” by Red Rock Worship is taken from Jeremiah 29:11. “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

          The chorus declares:

He has good plans

He has good plans for me

So I will take heart in deserts and gardens

That last line has challenged me, convicted me, and reminded me of God’s faithfulness.

God’s plans for us don’t change simply because we’re in a difficult season. Whether you’re walking through a desert or a garden, figuratively speaking, God’s plans for us are still good. Whether we feel like life is good or not, He is still working all things together for our benefit.

Your bad days do not surprise God. He never says, “Whoops! Didn’t see that one coming!” In fact, He’s already factored every terrible, discouraging, fearful, and anxious day into His plans for you.

So, whatever kind of day you’re having, be encouraged that God is still bringing His wonderful plan to pass.

If I know my Father, I know my Father has

Good plans

Our Father desires to bless us because He loves us with such a fervent passion. (See Ephesians 1:3, Mathew 7:11, and Psalm 31:19 for further reference.) The more you know Him, the more you understand His remarkable goodness and how unfathomably deep His love for us is. He wants to guide and protect us when we follow Him and surrender to His will.

Remnant, I pray that you are encouraged by this reminder of God’s goodness and faithfulness. It may be something we hear repeatedly, but let this truth sink into your hearts today: No matter what season or struggle you may be walking through today, our loving Father has good plans and a wonderful purpose for your life.

Let’s trust Him for this together.

-Olivia
