A Heart to Heart Chat

I knew I would be posting a new article the day before New Year’s Eve, but for a long time, I wasn’t quite sure what to write about. Enter my knack for procrastinating. As I write this, it’s the day before the article is published XD.
I thought and prayed about what powerful message I could give from the Word of God to push you into the new year. But then I thought, “Why not just have a good ol’ heart to heart chat?” Because if we could meet in real life, I’d sit you down with a hot drink (or a smoothie) and a blanket and just have a good conversation with you. So, grab your beverage of choice and a cozy blanket and let’s chat.
I bet you’re at least a little freaked out about 2026, aren’t you? I know I am. Maybe 2025 was a great year for you, and you don’t want to step into more unknown territory and start all over again. I feel you. This year had some of the biggest highlights of my life, including graduating high school and getting my first job. It was an incredible year for me while simultaneously being one of the hardest and worst years of my life XD.
Maybe that’s what you’re feeling too. Perhaps 2025 held a lot of difficulties and tears and things you never want to experience again. I completely understand that too, friend.
And perhaps, like me, you’re wondering where the heck I’m going with this chat. To be honest, I don’t fully know LOL. But in the midst of such crazy, unpredictable times, there are a few things that I do know for sure.
Regardless of what happens in 2026, I know God is still in control. I know His plans are still beyond incredible and always – and I mean always – better than our plans. I know that no matter what prayers He answers with a “yes” or a “no” or a “wait” in 2026, He’s never going to guide us in the wrong direction.
We look at the tense political climate around the world and in our own countries. Nations war against nations, and some even threaten to start wars against neighbours and allies. We look at our struggling economies, weak and ungodly leaders (including some who are even deceptively portrayed as strong and godly) recklessly fueling division, secularism invading our cultures, and Christianity being attacked and wonder, “How much longer until You return for us, Jesus? Please come quickly!”
We glance at the counterfeit Christianity being offered by the church, those in politics, and those who outwardly profess Christ as their Lord and see inconsistencies between their lifestyles, actions, attitudes, and words and what the Bible they claim to follow really says. We see our beloved Saviour and almighty God mocked, lied about, disrespected, and labelled as a villain and wonder how He could love people who do such horrors to His holy name.
A casual look at our culture offers us more than enough evidence of idolatry, depression, lies, deception, anxiety, identity crises, and a love for the things God hates.
So, friends, I don’t blame you if you’re wondering if 2026 will be any better than 2025. I wonder the same thing. But here’s what I keep reminding myself, and I hope you will too.
Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (see John 4:4).
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23, NKJV).
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:18-19, NKJV).
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:30-31, NKJV).
No matter what happens in this upcoming year, Remnant, never forget that we have the King of kings fighting for us.
He is going before us making our paths straight. He will never leave our sides nor ignore our prayers.
His grace is more than sufficient for us, and His power is perfected in our weaknesses (see 2 Corinthians 12;9,10).
He hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (see 2 Timothy 1:7).
His Holy Spirit is guiding and sustaining us as we follow Him.
Remnant, no matter what you’re facing, no matter how anxious you are about the new year, no matter what storms and trials you will encounter, Christ is greater than everything else. Trust Him to guide you through 2026. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NKJV).
With the power of the Holy Spirit, let’s go crush this new year and shine our lights unashamedly for Him.
Let’s do it together.
